Biography
I am a Legal Director in the Medical Negligence team in our London office. I specialise in representing individuals who have been injured as a result of medical negligence by GPs, hospitals or other healthcare providers. I also have experience of acting in fatal cases and assisting families with the inquest process.
I specialise in particularly complex and high value cases, involving spinal and birth injuries and delays in diagnosis of meningitis. My varied case load covers a full range of medical issues, including psychiatric, surgical, obstetric, neonatal, orthopaedic, and cosmetic cases and claims involving a delay in diagnosis of cancer. Some of my cases have featured in regional press titles including the Surrey Mirror and Epsom Guardian.
I work hard to achieve the best results for my clients, not only in terms of compensation, but also to facilitate the rehabilitation process to improve the quality of life for them and their family.
I also hold a Senior Litigator status with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and I am accredited by them as a Clinical Negligence Specialist. I speak fluent Polish. I was shortlisted for PIC Magazine’s Clinical Negligence Rising Star Award 2018, and I won the award in 2019.
What inspired you to get into law?
I have always wanted to pursue a career involving helping people and making a difference and fought strongly for what I believe in. I also enjoy the varied nature of clinical negligence work as two cases are never the same.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
I find helping people through what can be an incredibly difficult time in their lives and seeing the difference a compensation award makes to their quality of life very rewarding.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
The people at Irwin Mitchell are passionate about helping people who have been injured through no fault of their own. We always look at the whole picture, trying to access rehabilitation, long term financial planning and any other resources our clients may need to move on with their lives; we also have the benefit of being supported by our Court of Protection, Public Law, Employment and Probate departments. At the same time, we work in small close-knit teams and are able to participate in numerous initiatives the firm supports. I am a member of the charity committee and regularly organise events to raise money for our charity of the year.
What do you do away from the office?
I enjoy singing and I am part of the Irwin Mitchell choir. I am also an avid football supporter and a keen reader.
