I’m Bryan Bletso, and I’m the Director of Strategic Growth, with a focus on International. My job is fascinating, and there isn’t a day that goes by without me learning something new about the ever-changing world we live in.
Although we’re an English law firm, we have a truly global reach via our top independent intermediary network, which makes us unique. We also cover Scottish law following our merger with WJM. We’ve helped businesses and individuals achieve their objectives in over 200 countries over the last few years. I don't think any other firm can advise across such a wide spectrum of legal areas and it’s one of the reasons I enjoy my job so much.
Supporting our clients
Delivering a high-quality and consistent service for our clients is at the heart of everything we do. We support clients, whether individuals or businesses, internationally in two ways. We help British clients who have international needs overseas, and international clients who are coming to do business in the UK. Being that first point of contact and that friendly face and guiding hand is a real privilege.
Much of what we do is based on trust and being informed, so relationship building is central to forming long-term relationships. We have a deep bond with our international clients. We don’t just support them with the law, we’re also a reassuring presence when they’re in the UK.
Understanding our clients’ cultural backgrounds is also critical. We connect them with people who match their ways of thinking and working. Lots of our colleagues can speak multiple languages and we have specialist desks covering jurisdictions, including the US, Germany, France, India, Israel and Asia Pac. Being able to describe complex issues clearly and concisely is key to advising international individuals and businesses and puts our clients at ease.

Speaking of communication, it’s critical that we speak in a very clear and concise manner because English is rarely the first language for an international client. So being able to describe complex issues to clients so we can work together to offer support is really critical to advising international businesses or individuals.
