I am a senior claims handler specialising in all areas of motor personal injury work.
My caseload comprises complex issues or large loss claims. I have a particular specialisation in dealing with allegations of fraud brought against claimants.
I act as a point of referral for all motor areas on issues relating to fraud and dishonesty allegations against Irwin Mitchell's clients.
I undertake all aspects of litigation and undertake the majority of my own advocacy on interlocutory hearings.
I acted on behalf of Jody after she suffered serious injuries in a road accident while at work. Jody secured compensation and access to rehabilitation to help with her recovery.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
I started at Irwin Mitchell in 1997. I was looking for a career rather than a job. I was offered an opportunity by Irwin Mitchell and have pushed on with my career from there.
I have always had an interest in law and my original career plan was to become a forensic scientist, but the openings in the field were few and far between. I therefore chose to follow a career path in civil law.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
I am an enthusiastic individual and I try to better myself whenever I can. I have worked hard to gain a good technical knowledge and I enjoy being able to put that knowledge into practice on a day to day basis.
I think that the most enjoyable thing about my job is being able to assist others in difficult times, whether through rehabilitation needs being met or a final settlement in a case.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
I have been at Irwin Mitchell for all of my professional career. I enjoy the fact that the environment is supportive and there are plenty of opportunities to enhance your knowledge, improve your soft skills and progress through the firm.
I have been impressed by the expansion of IM whilst I have been here, expanding into more geographical offices and areas whilst maintaining clear core values. With that growth have come more opportunities for me, as an individual, to further my career.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
I have, over the years, done many different things. My main current hobbies are playing guitar, reading and being a father to my three-year-old daughter.
I am a black belt in Shotokan Karate and have played drums for many years (however not in my current house!).
