At Irwin Mitchell, we’ve been making our lists and checking them twice, and throughout December our excitement grows for the holidays, as we share gifts and eat mince pies.
To get into the festive spirit, we unwrapped our Christmas card competition for children with additional needs again this year. The winning entry will feature on our annual holiday card to clients. Entrants had the chance to win an iPad, with prizes for second and third place too.
We were blown away by how many entries came down our chimney, and we’d like to thank everyone for submitting their fantastic artwork.
Our panel of judges loved seeing different takes on the festive spirit. Our partner Anna Stacey, said:
“It’s been a real treat for me and my colleagues to see all the amazing entries created by some truly inspirational children.
“We’re so proud to showcase our winner, Charlie’s artwork on our Christmas card this year. We were particularly moved by the sentiment behind Charlie’s design – the importance of family and inclusivity. This really fits with our values.”
Here’s our pick of the entries we received that brought our judges so much joy.
Our top three
Winning entry – Charlie, aged 4 from Derbyshire

Charlie made a wreath from his parents’ handprints to represent that family is the most important thing to him at Christmas time. He also used his own fingers to create different colours baubles, symbolising diversity.
Second place – Ava, aged 9 from Cumbria
Ava was involved in a car accident. Since then she wants to raise awareness of different disabilities, including those that aren’t visible – much like her own. Her message is that everyone still comes together for Christmas.
Third place – Genevieve, aged 14 from London

Genevieve was inspired by a starry, starry night and penguins.
Here are some of the other fantastic entries…
Chloe, aged 11 from Market Deeping

Aurelia, aged 7 from Gloucestershire

Cian, aged 13 from Barnsley

James, aged 11 from Doncaster

Michael, aged 15 from Croydon

Emilia, aged 4 from North Yorkshire

Pierce, aged 14 from London

Emily, aged 8 from Bristol

Theo, aged 10

Thomas, aged 10
