We’re proud to join forces with two other law firms to support Steel Bones and its members. The charity has recently announced its new Legal Partnership featuring three law firms who’re experienced in working with amputees, and have excellent reputations for passionate client care.
Since Steel Bones was founded in 2014, they’ve received a growing number of requests from amputees and their family members about how to find legal support. To help provide the very best service for Steel Bones members, the charity’s set up a Legal Partnership which will support them with free initial legal advice and guidance.
The charity’s also set-up a Legal Buddy role to signpost the team and families to useful information, and help them to consider their options. The role is held by one of the charity volunteers who previously worked at the Citizens Advice Bureau.
We’ve worked with Steel Bones for a number of years and we’re pleased to be supporting the needs of their members. Alongside two other law firms, we’ll support Steel Bones through:
- Volunteering days
- Creating and sending member packs
- Sponsoring their annual Celebration Day
- Providing talks on topics requested by their members.
Colin Phelps, the chairman of Steel Bones, said:
“It’s fantastic to know how much these outstanding law firms value the work we do. We’ve very much enjoyed working with them thus far and the team looks forward to taking the partnership to the next level.”
Emma Joy-Staines, the director and co-founder of Steel Bones, said:
"We've greatly enjoyed working with Alex, Natasha and the Irwin Mitchell team over the past few years on various projects, and helping our families with advice. We're excited to work together to make sure amputees' families get the support and answers they need."
Our senior associates Alex Winch, medical negligence expert and Natasha Fairs serious injury expert, work closely with Steel Bones to support their members. Natasha said:
“Steel Bones is a fantastic organisation which provides valuable advice and support to its amputee members and their families.
“It’s been a pleasure to support the charity over recent years, and we’re delighted to part of the Legal Partnership. We look forward to continuing our work with everyone involved.”
