Earlier this year, we became only one of eight law firms to be awarded the MOD Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award. Last month, Amanda Marsh, head of Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) claims, attended the Royal Armouries in Leeds to receive the award.
The event was attended by nine Lord Lieutenants, the Minister for Defence People and Veterans Leo Docherty, and Chief of Defence People Lieutenant General James Swift.
The ceremony, against the backdrop of an amazing historic setting, was hosted by the Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association, with music from the Royal Marine Drum Corps. Other gold winners attending were Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, Morrisons, Healthier Heroes CIC and South Yorkshire Police.
Amanda was accompanied by Mark Gilbertson, our Head of Talent Acquisition and former Army Officer. Mark worked with Amanda on the ERS application, and was the force for change on our enhanced Reservist Policy.
This was an opportunity to meet people from like-minded organisations, and understand what the Scheme means for them. This reflected the effort put in across the business in support of the Armed Forces Covenant.
On social media, Amanda reported how proud she was to pick up the award. Mark Underhill OBE DL, Chief Executive of the Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association North West England and Isle of Man, responded by thanking our colleagues for attending, and for our inspirational work.
Amanda has assured our Military Injury team that the award will be on display in our Manchester office, before touring the other offices for all to see.
