To further bolster Irwin Mitchell’s and Ascent Collection’s experienced Compliance team, Glen Walker has been appointed in the newly created post of Head of Quality and Compliance – Recoveries.
With ever increasing regulatory and legislative compliance pressures in the financial industry, this role will focus on the requirements being placed upon our business from the financial regulators (FSA,OFT), industry associations (CSA,LSB), and not forgetting our Clients who, by outsourcing work to us, require us to adhere to the same regulatory requirements as are imposed on them.
Glen joins us from NCO Europe, and has worked in the debt collection industry for over 10 years bringing with him a wealth of knowledge from various sectors of the industry, including home shopping, telecoms, utilities and secured and unsecured collections in the mortgage and banking sector. A recently qualified ISO lead Auditor and a green belt in Lean Sigma, Glen is looking forwards to utilising his skills and knowledge to deliver a proactive approach to managing quality and compliance in this area of the business.
Glen’s initial areas of focus will be –
- developing and administering systems and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements;
- developing and administering training programs covering legal and regulatory requirements; assisting and advising staff with day to day legal and regulatory issues as they arise;
- developing and administering monitoring and surveillance systems to proactively detect potential breaches of legal and regulatory requirements; (including complaints)
