Irwin Mitchell’s office in Bristol opened on 26 April 2010 with the aim of establishing a presence for Irwin Mitchell in the South West of the country. We cover all counties south west of Bristol.
Following a very successful launch party on 20 May 2010 the office has started to establish itself in this vibrant city and is going from strength to strength. Currently the office is concentrating on offering Personal Injury and Court of Protection Services and is already growing: there are now 18 members of staff compared with four months ago when there were only a few of us, the core of whom had moved from the Birmingham office.
PI in Bristol consists of Medical Law and Patient Rights, Serious Injury and Workplace Illness. We have, however, retained a small number of abuse cases which have been transferred from the Birmingham office in view of the South West location of the Claimants or Defendant or both. Kate Easy at Bristol runs these cases and is supervised by Luke Daniels in our Birmingham office.
The Bristol office has recently taken on a case, where children were not removed from their birth home, despite social services knowing that the children were in danger. We are hoping to develop the abuse work further in the South West region.
