The Scotland team at Irwin Mitchell has been recognised for the work we do in the community for the second time in a year and picked up an award for the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Firm Of The Year’, presented by The Law Awards of Scotland.
At a ceremony held at the Raddison Blu Hotel in Glasgow, the best legal firms and individuals that Scotland has to offer were honoured at The Law Awards of Scotland which was celebrating its 10th anniversary as the country’s premier legal event.
We were delighted to be presented with an award for our fundraising efforts and the work we do in the community at the Scott and Co Legal Awards in Edinburgh. Staff from the firm wowed judges with their dedication to local charities such as Yorkhill Children’s Foundation in Glasgow, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Macmillan Cancer Support and Child Bereavement UK.
The Glasgow team raised money for charities last year by taking part in a variety of events such as a 5K run, a cycle ride between Marie Curie centres in Glasgow and Newcastle, an Olympic-themed lunch, a Wii fitness challenge and a relay along the route of the Edinburgh Marathon.
Irwin Mitchell Scotland’s Managing Partner, Craig Marshall, said: “Fundraising for charities, which are close to all our hearts, is a big part of our social responsibility programme at Irwin Mitchell and the dress down days, bake sales, fun runs and challenges we’ve held to boost the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation is a great way for us to give something back to the community.
“It has been a real team effort and we are absolutely thrilled to win the Fundraising Team of the Year award, which I’m sure will inspire us to carry on our charity work in future.”
Craig added: “To win a second award for our corporate and social responsibility is testament to the hard work all of our staff put in every day for the most important people in our business, our clients, and it’s great to see our efforts recognised like this.”
