On Sunday 2 February 2014, Irwin Mitchell Scotland supported a special charity football match featuring former Celtic and Rangers stars, to help raise funds for those injured and the families of those killed in the Clutha helicopter tragedy.
Former Old Firm derby rivals, including Andy Goram and Frank McAvennie, took part in the special match at Ashfield Stadium, with Celtic winning the match 5-4.
Tributes to the victims of the Clutha tragedy included more than 30 children from families affected by the disaster leading both sides out. The youngsters were also each given a medal and certificates to commemorate the event.
Lawyers at Irwin Mitchell Scotland are continuing to work to gain justice for those affected by the Clutha tragedy, including helping them get access to vital counselling and rehabilitation support.
Irwin Mitchell have written to Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin calling for a full public inquiry to be held into helicopter safety standards across the UK – a move which dominated national and regional headlines north of the border recently.
