Irwin Mitchell has appointed the vastly experienced and highly regarded family and divorce Barrister, Ian Cook as a Partner in its London office.
Ian has been qualified for over 20 years and is a specialist finance practitioner within family law, with vast experience of all aspects of divorce, dissolution of civil partnerships and financial provision for the children of unmarried parents. He is recommended as a leader in his field in both the Legal 500 and Chambers UK independent guides to law describing him as "Tenacious, client-friendly and pragmatic”.

Katharine Shaw joins Irwin Mitchell
Katharine Shaw has recently joined our Southampton office as Partner. Katharine has been practising law for over 25 years experience and extensive experience in the financial aspects of marriage breakdown, and in pre- and post nuptial agreements, working generally, but not exclusively, for clients with larger assets and incomes. Katharine also works with clients on private children issues, such as residence and relocation.

It’s an exciting time for our Family team as some of our key family lawyers are relocating. Nicola Walker (pictured), Partner, has moved to Bristol to head up our Bristol base from Birmingham. Clare Wiseman, Partner, will now be heading up Birmingham, and Teresa Davidson has taken the reigns at our Leeds office. David Lister, Associate Solicitor, will also be relocating to Leeds to join Teresa’s team.
