Four hires for Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth's Family and Will, Trust & Estate Disputes teams.
Leading national law firm Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth has boosted the ranks of its Manchester family and Birmingham Will, Trust and Estate Disputes teams with the arrivals of partners Katie McCann and Jonathan Gist as well as senior associate Carole Nettleton and solicitor Kate Dixon.
Katie, who has joined the award-winning family law team as a partner from Kuits and who is a practising barrister, is a specialist in handling high and ultra-high-value matrimonial finance matters. Her expertise also includes pre and post-nuptial agreements as well as cohabitation agreements.
Katie is highly regarded in the Manchester and London markets, with strong links to each. She comes recommended in leading independent legal directories Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500, who describe her as ‘professional and forceful (without being pushy) and is very knowledgeable; she has the knack of dialling into the key points and understanding the bigger picture’.
Senior associate Carole Nettleton qualified in 1996 and advises clients on high-value divorce, dissolution of civil partnership and cohabitation issues, focusing on the financial aspects of the cases. She has extensive experience of dealing with high-net-worth individuals involving complex pension issues, multiple businesses and family trusts.
The leading national law firm’s Manchester office has seen multiple exciting changes in recent months. National Head of Family Ros Bever was named Regional Managing Partner for the office in April, taking over from Roy Beckett. Ros will continue her work as a leading family and divorce law partner.
The market-leading Private Wealth team is also welcoming Jonathan Gist to its Birmingham Will, Trust and Estate Disputes team. His experience spans a wide range of trust and probate disputes, including high-value estate litigation.
His client base comprises of multi-generational families from the South West and across the UK. Jonathan is also a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), which recognises solicitors that possess particular expertise in the field.
Solicitor Kate Dixon joins Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth from Bradley Haynes Solicitors in Worcester. Having qualified in 2017, Kate is experienced in handling Inheritance Act claims and contentious probate matters, as well as having a background in advising on commercial and property litigation cases.
The wider Will, Trust and Estate Disputes team has seen impressive growth in recent months, most notably establishing a new team in the leading national law firm’s Manchester office which was announced in April.
The four new hires come after the promotions of family law expert Sarah Balfour and residential property specialist Helen Hutchison to the partnership also announced this month.
Craig Marshall, CEO of Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth, said: “I am delighted to welcome such high-calibre senior solicitors to the Private Wealth division. The firm is making a big push towards investing in the very best people for Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth, which has secured our position as one of the biggest and best private client teams in the country.
“Our four new appointments in the West Midlands and North West regions show we are a truly national business and are actively investing in the Private Wealth team across the UK as a whole – which will only help our clients, who are at the heart of everything we do, even more.
“It is an exciting time to be a part of Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth; with four national heads in place, we’re now looking to combine the high-quality of our lawyers with a strong understanding of what our clients truly value.
“I wish Katie, Jonathan, Carole and Kate every success and know they will all be a great asset to Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth.”
