High Net Worth Partner Specialises In International Private Client

Matthew Briggs, a Partner in the High Net Worth and International private client team at Irwin Mitchell, has been elected as a committee member to the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Philanthropy Advisors Global Special Interest Group (SIG) Steering Committee. In addition to this, Matthew has also been appointed Deputy Chair of the Committee, effective from 1 January 2024.

STEP is the global professional association for professionals who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning, comprising lawyers, accountants, trustees and other practitioners that help families plan for their futures. STEP works to improve public understanding of the issues families face in this area, and promotes education and high professional standards among its members.

The Philanthropy Advisors Global SIG Steering Committee focuses on enhancing the strategic nature of giving and social investing to raise the status of private client philanthropy advisory and help encourage further professionalism in this area.

Matthew joined Irwin Mitchell in June 2023 and has been a full member of STEP since 2016.  He specialises in multi-jurisdictional wealth structuring, international tax and trusts, cross-border philanthropy and worldwide estate planning for high & ultra-high-net-worth individuals and their families.  He is also a charity trustee and leads the charity & philanthropy group at the firm.
