Prestigious Role Reflects Irwin Mitchell’s Investment In Leading Pension Team
Irwin Mitchell partner Penny Cogher has been elected to the main committee of the Association of Pension Lawyers (APL).
Penny has considerable experience in all pension matters, with a particular focus on advising companies, international firms and their pension trustees, on their UK pension arrangements.
Established in 1984, the APL is a not-for-profit membership association which consists of more than a thousand lawyers who practise pensions law in the UK. Although it is not a political organisation and does not comment on pensions policy, it does engage with Government on various initiatives and provides practical experience and technical input on legislation and regulatory guidance.
Penny will start her two-year team at the APL on 11 November.
Expert Opinion
“It is a huge honour to be elected to the Association of Pension Lawyers’ main committee. This is an exciting opportunity as the APL provides a valuable forum for exchanging ideas amongst lawyers, whilst working extremely hard with government to share this collective expertise and ensure it is reflected in legislation.” Penny Cogher, Pensions partner
