Firm One Of The Top 16 In UK’s Best Workplaces Rankings For 2022
Irwin Mitchell has once again been recognised as one of the top places to work in the UK by the independent Great Place To Work Institute.
The firm has been a consistent performer in recent years and has retained its place in the top firms in the Super Large category, coming in 16th in this year’s rankings, one of only two law firms to feature in the top 16.
A consultancy specialising in workplace culture, Great Place to Work uses a confidential and anonymous survey to discover what employees really think about the places where they work.
Irwin Mitchell has maintained its place in the top 20 rankings over the last three years, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic and national lockdowns, to be rated by its staff as a great place to work.
This has been achieved via a commitment to staff wellbeing, career development and colleague empowerment. This has included a move to hybrid working through its Flexible by Choice (or Success) policy, the focus of leaders and line managers to enable greater empowerment of colleagues to find ways to improve what they do and how they do it.
As well as a focus on career development through promotions and apprenticeships, improving diversity and inclusion and an increasing emphasis on work/life balance and supporting families.
The results are based on anonymous staff feedback as part of the Great Place To Work Survey and benchmarked across a range of organisations.
Irwin Mitchell has also been recently ranked in the top 15 employers for Wellbeing and last year ranked in the top 10 of employers for women by the Great Place to Work Institute.
Expert Opinion
“To be ranked among the best places to work in the UK is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the work of all our colleagues over the last years.
“We listen to what our colleagues and clients say and work hard to take their feedback onboard, taking practical steps to address their needs and concerns. This is a work in progress, but this level of consistency demonstrates that many of our colleagues think we are moving in the right direction as a positive influence in their lives and the clients and communities we serve.
“We will be taking this ranking as an incentive to improve our efforts and continue to make progress. There’s more we can do to make Irwin Mitchell an even greater place to work and while a top 16 spot is a proud moment for us all, our ambition is to be even better.” Susana Berlevy - Group Chief People Officer
Irwin Mitchell also recently announced the opening of two new offices in Cardiff and Liverpool as it develops its Flexible By Choice hybrid approach to working and paid all colleagues a one off cost of living payment.
