Arrival Of Irwin Mitchell’s Latest Duo Signal Firm’s Plans For Ambitious Growth
Irwin Mitchell has appointed two new associates to support the success of the West Yorkshire team and contribute to the firm’s ambitious post-pandemic growth plans for the region.
Based in the firm’s Leeds office, Gillian Kaufman joins as a Senior Associate Solicitor in the Restructuring & Insolvency team and Kathryn Pitters has been appointed as a Barrister–Associate in the firm’s Regulatory Investigations Group.
With a career spanning 25 years, Gillian is an expert in the full range of contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters and advises insolvency practitioners, corporate and individual clients. She is experienced in formal insolvency procedures and informal restructuring, turnaround, refinancing arrangements and advising distressed businesses. Gillian also has specific expertise in international debt recovery work recovering UK debt for international clients.
Joining the firm’s Regulatory Investigations Group headed by Jason Newall, Kathryn is an expert in professional discipline and healthcare regulatory work. Kathryn joins the firm from Capsticks LLP, where she assisted with the establishment of the new specialist regulator, Social Work England. Over the last 15 years, Kathryn has been a member of Charter Chambers in London, with significant experience of financial regulatory and professional discipline work.
The appointments follow Leeds based banking and finance partner Paddy Sturman joining the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Yorkshire and Humber Council earlier this year and the firm being ranked number 1 for overall client service by the independent Legal 500 guide to law.
