Former Colleague Re-Joins Firm To Work on Major Cases
National law firm Irwin Mitchell has strengthened its aviation team with the appointment of a former colleague as the firm continues to assist clients on some of the industry’s biggest cases.
Vincent Nichol has returned to the firm having spent more than three years in Hong Kong acting for a range of aviation entities, global aviation insurers, and major international airlines. As a result, Vincent has developed an in-depth understanding of the international aviation industry and gained experience in handling a wide range of disputes.
Prior to the move, Vincent spent five years with Irwin Mitchell’s aviation team working on high profile cases such as the Germanwings and Shoreham tragedies in 2015, and has now returned to assist the firm in representing the families of those who lost their lives when Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302, a Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, crashed shortly after take-off in 2019.
Expert Opinion
“I have been handling complex international aviation claims since 2012. Working overseas has given me a wealth of new knowledge and experience in the aviation world and it’s great to be back at Irwin Mitchell where I can put my skills to good use looking after our clients.
“The courage and determination of the families whose loved ones lost their lives in the Ethiopian Airlines crash is a reminder of why I got into law in the first place and it is an honour to be supporting their efforts to seek justice and also to ensure that others don’t have to go through what they have.” Vincent Nichol - Solicitor
Demetrius Danas, international travel and aviation law Partner at Irwin Mitchell, said: “As the department continues to handle several high profile cases, it’s a pleasure to welcome a familiar face back to the team.
Vincent has the benefit of experience in aviation matters across the world and is now able to put this to good use for the benefit of our clients both now and in the future. His return will further bolster our national aviation law practice which looks after clients from our offices in London, the Midlands and the North.”
