Latest Investment Round Will Help British Organisations Improve Post-Pandemic Culture
Corporate lawyers at Irwin Mitchell have advised Manchester Based Praetura Ventures on a new investment aimed at supporting UK work culture.
The funding round, led by Praetura Ventures and Blackfinch Ventures will see a £1.5m investment into Culture Shift, a Manchester based technology business that has created a platform for confidentially and securely reporting workplace harassment.
Thanks to the new funding, Culture Shift will now recruit a number of new hires in Manchester and have the means to expand into new markets throughout the UK and better support other organisations looking to actively improve workplace culture post-pandemic.
The Irwin Mitchell team advising Praetura was led by Irwin Mitchell corporate partner Adam Kaucher.
The Irwin Mitchell corporate team has advised Praetura on several multi-million pound investments this year, including for London based fundraising and events platform Enthuse and Pixelmax in March, followed by advising on the investment into Reacta Biotech in July.
This latest funding for Culture Shift follows an earlier £1.35m investment by Praetura Ventures in March 2020, which enabled Culture Shift to expand its business and customer base significantly.
Culture Shift is already working with more than 70 of the UK’s largest universities and is now set to embark on the next stage of its business development plan.
Gemma McCall, CEO and co-founder of Culture Shift, said: “In the UK, we are very proud that more than a million people have access to our reporting platform.
“This investment and continued support from Praetura and Blackfinch make our organization fit. We can continue our mission to better manage our unique workplace culture with tools.“
David Foreman, MD of Praetura Ventures, said: “The work that Culture Shift is doing is very important. We want to work in a place where everyone can feel at ease.
“Gemma and her team are working tirelessly to make this happen to so many people. We are very pleased to be able to support their journey and look forward to seeing them continue to improve the lives of workers in different industries.“
