Kelly Greig Will Represent South Region
Top law firm Irwin Mitchell’s head of Later Life Planning, Kelly Greig, has won an unopposed council seat for the leading professional body for trusts and estates in the UK.
STEP is the global professional association for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning. STEP works to improve public understanding of the issues families face in this area and promotes education and high professional standards among its members.
Kelly’s new role will see her providing her expertise on STEP’s business plans, regional development for the South and advising STEP’s board of directors on key issues in professional development and public policy.
Kelly is no stranger to leadership, having been named Head of Later Life Planning for leading national law firm Irwin Mitchell in 2018. Kelly is also the only legal professional on the Money and Pension Service’s Later Life steering committee, which is shaping the future of later life planning in the UK.
Irwin Mitchell has a longstanding relationship with STEP; in 2019 the national Tax, Trusts and Estates team was awarded Platinum Employer Partner accreditation by the professional association, which takes into account a firm’s quality of training, learning and development. In June this year Leeds-based partner Andrea Jones was appointed as chair of STEP’s Yorkshire branch.
Expert Opinion
“I’m delighted and honoured to have won an unopposed seat on the STEP council, which has always done an excellent job of steering the organisation and maintaining its high standards.
“Irwin Mitchell has a long history with STEP, with many of our national Tax, Trusts and Estates team being involved with the organisation either through membership, leadership or training, so it’s truly humbling to be involved in the future of the organisation.
“I’m excited to get started and to be representing the STEP professionals in the South and look forward to the new challenges this role will bring.” Kelly Greig - Partner
