Kate Caldwell Wins And Claire-Marie Cornford Nominated At Citywealth Awards
Leading national law firm Irwin Mitchell’s London Private Wealth team has received a series of award wins, nominations and rankings from top publication Citywealth.
Kate Caldwell, a Tax, Trusts and Estates associate in Irwin Mitchell’s London office has won Associate Lawyer of the Year in the 2020 Citywealth Future Leaders awards, which took place last night (11 November).
Kate was also named on the Citywealth Future Leaders Top 100 list for 2020, a list of the best managers and advisers in wealth management under the age of 40. Decided on by senior panel of industry leaders and the Citywealth team, the list is a directory of the best young advisers operating in the sector, complimented by the FLA Awards.
Kate specialises in advising high-net-worth individuals, families and trustees on international and domestic taxation, asset structuring and succession planning. Kate’s efforts have now seen her recognised with a place in the top 100 and an award win.
In another success, partner Claire-Marie Cornford, who heads up the London office’s Will, Trust and Estate Disputes team, has been nominated for the Career Initiative gong at the 2020 Citywealth Powerwomen Awards.
Claire-Marie, who started at Irwin Mitchell in 2017, has grown a successful team of will, trust and estate disputes experts over the space of three years, most recently appointing partner Nicola Bushby in May this year. Claire-Marie was named as a Next-Generation Partner in this year’s Legal 500 rankings.
The firm was also nominated in the Best Employer - Career Progression (LGBT and Inclusion) category.
Expert Opinion
“Getting the gold award last night at the Future Leaders Awards, plus being named on the Top 100 list, too is the icing on what has been a great year for Kate. Everyone congratulates her on what is a great success.
“Claire-Marie’s Powerwomen Awards nomination is just as richly deserved, who was tasked with building a London team and has more than delivered on that front. Her team has gone from strength to strength, being listed in the Legal 500 rankings after just two years, so the nomination is much earned.
“This year has been a challenge for clients and colleagues alike, so it is always excellent to see the efforts of the team acknowledged in this way. The gold award for Kate and Claire-Marie’s nomination is brilliant news and is another example of the high levels of service we have continued to deliver for our clients in these challenging times, as well as the next generation of legal talent we have at our clients’ disposal.” Paula Myers - Partner
