National Law Firm Highly Commended At ‘Virtual’ 2020 Legal Cheek Awards
National law firm Irwin Mitchell has once again underlined its credentials as a great place to work, by scooping the award for Best Law firm for Work/Life Balance at the 2020 Legal Cheek Awards.
Due to the ongoing impact of Coronavirus, 200 ‘virtual’ guests attended this year’s awards on Thursday 26 March, via an exclusive invite-only online event.
Legal Cheek is well-known for providing legal news and reflections on the legal sector and the website’s annual awards celebrate the top trainee-rated firms and chambers of 2020.
The shortlists in each category were produced from the annual Legal Cheek survey of over 2,000 Trainee and Junior Lawyers, making the awards a unique insight into the performance of firms, as viewed by their newest recruits.
In addition to securing the award for best work/life balance, Irwin Mitchell was highly commended in the Best Law Firm for Training and Best Law Firm for Quality of Work categories.
The award for Best Use of Social Media was judged by an independent panel including Rob Rinder (aka Judge Rinder) and last year’s winner; with Irwin Mitchell vlogger and personal injury associate Chrissie Wolfe being highly commended for her ‘Law and Broader’ piece.
The Awards comes at a time when the legal profession has had to adjust to the realities of home working and Irwin Mitchell’s efforts to improve work/life balance has helped colleagues adjust to a situation where many in the UK are now required to work from home where possible.
“It is fantastic to see the firm winning awards and being highly commended for others, particularly in areas we have worked so hard to improve on. It’s a proud moment and a real boost in what are difficult times for everyone.
"Ensuring colleagues have a good work life balance is essential for their wellbeing, attracting the best new talent and delivering best outcomes for our clients. The Legal Cheek Awards show that trainees and junior lawyers think we are getting this right.
Coronavirus has put new demands on everyone but flexible working and a commitment to making Irwin Mitchell a great place to work, has enabled us to make a seamless switch to home working. This approach is now paying dividends, by giving us the ability to support both our colleagues and our clients, even through the most testing of times.” Andrew Tucker CEO
