Irwin Mitchell Names Multiple Nominations In the 2020 Law Awards
A local law firm has been shortlisted seven times in the forthcoming Birmingham Law Awards 2020, a prestigious event celebrating the very best legal talent the midlands has to offer.
The Birmingham office of Irwin Mitchell features seven times on this year’s shortlist, an amazing achievement that could involve some friendly rivalry with colleagues in the same category!
Laura Brown and Brogan Maxwell are both shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year; while Jess Allen and Marie Newton will both contest the Paralegal of the Year award.
The firm is also up for Excellence in Client Service Awards in both the Private Clients and Business Clients Categories, for the Clinical Negligence and Employment teams respectively.
In addition to the firm’s standing in the private client category, Emma Rush is also shortlisted as Partner of the Year, recognising her outstanding contribution to the Clinical Negligence team.
The nominees will be interviewed by a panel of judges before the winners are announced at a black tie event on Friday 27 March at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre.
Organised by The Birmingham Law Society, the Legal Awards have established themselves as the key vehicle for marking the achievements of the Birmingham legal community for 19 years.
Expert Opinion
“To be shortlisted seven times at the premier legal event in our region is a great achievement.
The shortlist reflects a lot of hard work by the individuals concerned and the wider Birmingham team. It’s a great way to mark our recent office move and congratulations are due to all involved. It’s a privilege to work with such a talented group and shortlisting is no less than they deserve.” Lisa Jordan - Managing Partner - Medical Negligence
An all-female shortlist for Irwin Mitchell reflects the advances the firm has made in improving diversity and being a champion of the cause in the wider legal profession. The firm was ranked number one for diversity in the 2019 UK200 top 100 survey, with 65% of lawyers female.
The shortlisting comes after the Birmingham office moved to the Colmore building as part of the firm’s ongoing success and plans for further expansion throughout the wider region.
