New Knowledge Management Strategy Will Bring Together New and Existing People, Processes Tools and Resources
Irwin Mitchell has appointed a new Head of Knowledge Management (KM) with a brief to support Group objectives through the development of a core knowledge management strategy.
Eleanor Windsor joins the firm on a permanent basis, having supported the business as a consultant since January 2017. She now takes on her new role based from her home near Bristol and working across all of the firm’s office locations nationally, embracing Irwin Mitchell’s agile flexible working approach.
Eleanor’s expanded role will see her responsible for leading the Knowledge Management Team, whilst also developing a community for the firm’s growing number of professional support lawyers, enabling effective and instant sharing of knowledge, insight and best practice, internally and externally.
Eleanor will also play a key role supporting the Group’s Client Service delivery programme, aimed at providing the necessary insight lawyers need to perform their role and deliver excellent client service, while enabling the business to achieve its wider objectives. Her other priorities include working with key stakeholders to ensure maintenance of excellent legal technical skills across the Group, developing value-added business intelligence research capabilities, and supporting efforts to better capture, maintain and share knowledge.
A former Vice President of Client Engagement in the UK and EMEA at The LAC Group, (a provider of knowledge and information management services for legal, business, media and academic markets), Eleanor has significant previous legal and outsourcing experience, coupled with industry connections that will prove invaluable in developing the Knowledge Management strategy.
Speaking on her appointment, Eleanor Windsor said: "I’m looking forward to developing our knowledge management strategy further and working with the team and colleagues across the Group to support the business in achieving its ambitions. A strong group services team is essential for the legal teams to be able to focus on delivering the best client experience and we will be ensuring that the knowledge team continues to add value in providing an excellent client service.”
Expert Opinion
“We want to build up our knowledge management function so that our lawyers across Irwin Mitchell, whether supporting businesses or individuals, have the tools they need to be able to do their job as efficiently and effectively as possible. We already have good resources in place and several professional support lawyers around the business, but Eleanor will now be able to bring that together with a strategy to take us to the next level.” Sarah Ball - Director of Operations
