Head Of Department Says It Reflects Team’s Innovative Approach
Irwin Mitchell last night won the prestigious ‘Employment Law Firm of the Year’ category at this year’s Personnel Today awards.
Organised by the leading HR trade magazine, the awards are now in their 21st year and were held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on 19 November.
The Personnel Today judging panel named Irwin Mitchell as the ‘Employment Law Firm of the Year’ after being impressed by the firm's many achievements including its focus on supporting junior HR professionals and the recognition of the particular needs of the education sector.

Irwin Mitchell’s Employment team has more than 70 lawyers and it handled over 1,000 tribunal claims in 2018 across a number of sectors.
Last month the firm helped Judge Gilham secure whistleblower protection for all UK judges and statutory office holders in a Supreme Court human rights case. Earlier this year Irwin Mitchell also successfully acted for the outsourcing company Capita in the Court of Appeal where the Court ruled unanimously that it is not discriminatory for employers to pay shared parental leave at lower rates than enhanced maternity leave pay rates.
