Legal Experts Irwin Mitchell Are Hosting The Showcase Event This Month
A team of organisers and exhibitors are hoping to “make a difference” to the lives of disabled adults and children by hosting a special event in Leeds this month.
Held by law firm Irwin Mitchell on 30 May, the Making A Difference event is expected to feature fun and exciting recreational outdoor activities, along with arts and crafts, drama and theatre, live dance performances, wellbeing advice, and demonstrations of equipment and aids. It is designed to encourage disabled people to discover new hobbies and see what is available in their area, with something to suit most interests.
Over 40 exhibitors are confirmed for the day, including Dan White’s Variety and the Department of Ability. Excited to show what his team have to offer, Dan said: “We are so looking forward to this event! Firstly, with Variety we aim to improve the lives of disabled and disadvantaged children and young people throughout the UK. Variety provides practical help with SEN schools, Sunshine Coaches, wheelchairs and equipment, brilliant days out and special projects.
“The Department of Ability is coming to change the comic book world by showing that inclusion in the media is achievable. With its five original disabled central characters, the DOA is fast becoming the comic world’s worst kept secret.
“Variety and DOA cannot wait to show what’s on offer for families everywhere!”
All exhibitors will be separated into the following sections – Drama/Theatre/Dance, Outdoor Activities, Arts and Crafts, Equipment and Aids, and Wellbeing. Other acts already confirmed include Yorkshire Dance, Leeds Power Chair Football Club, The Disabled Photographers Society, and Yoga To Calm.
Expert Opinion
“We are delighted to be putting together this exhibition that will allow groups from across the North of England to showcase the services and equipment they provide for those with disabilities.
There promises to be a wide range of exciting activities to try on the day, and I am sure it will be a fun and informative day for all who attend.
The good variety in exhibitors at this event bodes well for the day to be a good mix of all the North has to offer.”
