Ros Bever Recognised As Leading Light In Forwarding Women In Law
Leading national law firm Irwin Mitchell’s national head of family law and regional managing partner for Manchester, Ros Bever, has been named on Citywealth’s Top 100 list for International Women’s Day.
The list draws together some of the leading figures in the legal profession to champion those pushing for women’s career progression within the private wealth sector ahead of International Women’s Day, which takes place this Friday (8 March).
2019 is a particularly significant year for women in the law as it marks the centenary of women being admitted as solicitors for the first time in England and Wales, making Ros’ recognition for International Women’s Day even more special.
Ros has previously been recognised by Citywealth at their #Powerwomen awards, picking up a bronze award in 2018, and has recently been nominated for Partner of the Year at the Family Law Awards.
The firm’s Manchester office, where Ros also heads up the family law team, recently took part in the unveiling of the suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst’s statue in St Peter’s Square, where Irwin Mitchell recently relocated to.
Expert Opinion
“I am absolutely over the moon to have been listed in Citywealth’s Top 100 list for International Women’s Day this year. It is always an honour to be recognised anywhere, but this is particularly special as championing women in the law and the workplace is something we all work towards here at Irwin Mitchell.
“I am inspired on a daily basis by the work so many of the women at our law firm – whether they are a solicitor or supporting the business in other ways – do each and every day. As both regional managing partner and national head of family law I’m proud to be able to show other women what can be achieved when it comes to women in leadership positions.
“I’m also proud to work for a law firm that has one of the highest female partner rates in the country and that provides women the opportunities to achieve their goals through mentoring, flexible working and a positive work culture that supports women and builds them up.
“I would like to thank Citywealth for this honour and I will give a thumbs up to Emmeline’s statue when I leave the office today!” Ros Bever - Managing Partner - Private Client
