Figure Reflects Calibre Of Trainees And Training Provided
Irwin Mitchell has revealed its latest retention figures for trainees with 45 out of 47 staying on at the firm as newly-qualified (NQ) solicitors.
This translates to a 96% rate which is higher than last year’s 83% figure when 49 out of 59 trainees were retained in the business.
This year, all of the 15 trainees in Business Legal Services were made offers including four in Litigation, three in Real Estate, two each in the Corporate, Banking and Employment teams with one apiece going to Restructuring & Insolvency and Commercial.
Thirty out of 32 trainees in the firm’s Personal Legal Services division have been retained with eight in Family, seven in Personal Injury, five in Court of Protection, four in Medical Negligence and one in Public Law.
Marissa Sanders, Head of Early Careers at Irwin Mitchell, said: “This year’s newly qualified retention rate of 96% is an outstanding achievement reflecting both the calibre of our trainees and the training and support they receive in the business.”
At the start of May, Irwin Mitchell promoted eight people to Partner level in its latest promotion round.
It also recently announced that it had promoted 90 people to Associate and Senior Associate roles across its legal and group services teams.
