Winners Set To Be Announced At 20 Year Awards Anniversary On 10 October 2019
Irwin Mitchell has been shortlisted in all seven award categories the firm entered in the 2019 Yorkshire Legal Awards. The winners will be announced at a ceremony marking 20 years of the awards on 10 October at New Dock Hall, Leeds.
The awards have been recognising outstanding legal talent in the region for two decades and in addition to the excitement of the awards, the event offers professionals an opportunity to meet for an evening of networking. Celebrating those firms flying the flag for Yorkshire regionally, nationally and internationally, the awards cover the biggest corporate firms and recognise the work of everyone from rising stars to senior partners.
This year, Irwin Mitchell has been shortlisted for Banking and Finance, Commercial Property, Employment Law, Family Law, Private Client, Residential Property and Rising Star Awards.
The firm secured a hat trick of awards in 2018, including Ian Toft from the Leeds office being named Partner of the Year. With all the awards fiercely contested and judged by the most respected figures in the Yorkshire legal community, shortlisting is no small achievement.

Expert Opinion
“These nominations show the breadth and depth of the legal services we offer, for both individuals and businesses, across a wide range of legal services. To achieve seven nominations is impressive by any standards and recognition of the great work we do for our clients. With Sinead Rollinson-Hayes from the Sheffield personal injury team nominated for the Rising Star award, it is also clear there is no shortage of up and coming legal talent in our ranks.” Niall Baker - Managing Partner - Court of Protection and Public Law
The news comes on the back of a string of award successes for the firm, including public law and human rights solicitor Oliver Carter being presented with a Special Award at the 2019 Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards on 10 July; while the Newcastle office scooped Team of the Year at the Northern Law Awards on 6 June.
