Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth Recruits Toby Hales From Seddons

Leading national law firm Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth has recruited a new partner to its London family and divorce law team.

Toby Hales joins the top national team from Seddons. A highly experienced solicitor and talented litigator who has had a number of high-profile cases before the Court of Appeal, Toby is a specialist in international children cases and arrangements between parents for children. He also has expertise in handling high-value matrimonial finance matters and relationship breakdown cases.

Toby is a respected family law solicitor whose success for his clients and passion for complex cases has earned him leading individual status in Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500, the two main independent legal directories. They describe him as ‘a very clever and imaginative lawyer’ and that ‘he fights hard for his clients’.

Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth’s London family law team has grown rapidly in recent months. Solicitor Rachel Frost-Smith joined the team in September, having previously been at Vardags. Rachel is well-versed in handling complex children cases and high and ultra-high-net-worth matrimonial finance matters, supported by her background as a corporate tax lawyer. In 2018 three solicitors – Carmel Brown, Kathryn Evans and Jenna Lucas – were promoted to senior associate.

The London family law team forms part of the national family law outfit, which Toby will be working in close conjunction with, and is headed by Ros Bever. Ros was recently nominated for Family Partner of the Year at the Family Law Awards and the national Private Wealth team was nominated for Private Client Team of the Year at the British Legal Awards.
