Irwin Mitchell Is Sponsoring Libby Mae’s Little Angels Annual Charity Ball For Second Year In A Row To Highlight Importance Of Neonatal Units
A Partner at Irwin Mitchell’s Birmingham office has spoken about how a neonatal unit saved his son’s life as the law firm announced it will once again be sponsoring Libby Mae’s Little Angels annual charity ball to highlight the importance of neonatal units.
Real Estate Partner, Martin McQueen, turned to the neonatal units at Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH), Good Hope and the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the QMC Hospital in Nottingham when his son, Alex, was struck down with Group B Strep Meningitis (bacterial) and went into septic shock just 18 days after being born.
To help spread awareness on the vital role neonatal units play, Irwin Mitchell is sponsoring Libby Mae’s Little Angels annual charity ball on Saturday 13 October at Birmingham’s Macdonald Burlington Hotel. Dancing on Ice winner and former X Factor and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Jake Quickenden will perform at the event following last year’s performance.
The event will once again raise funds for Libby Mae’s Little Angels, who save babies’ lives across the Midlands by supporting all 18 neonatal units in the region.
A family-run charity that started in 2013, Libby Mae’s Little Angels have contributed massively to neonatal units across the Midlands, helping fund medical including ventilators to aid breathing, incubators to keep babies warm and infusion pumps for fluids and monitors. The charity has also significantly donated towards the purchase of a transport incubator that transfers more than 1,000 babies between hospitals in the West Midlands annually.
Irwin Mitchell has worked closely with Charlotte and Richard Sharratt, the founders of Libby Mae’s Little Angels to help spread awareness of neonatal units and the life-saving changes they can make.
