Concerns Raised Regarding CQC’s ‘Requires Improvement’ Rating
Specialist medical negligence lawyers have launched investigations after being contacted for help from several families in relation to problems linked to maternity care in the Reading area.
Irwin Mitchell’s medical negligence team has seen a spike in enquiries related to the region in the past month, including cases related to Royal Berkshire Hospital involving infants born just a week apart.
While the Care Quality Commission’s latest inspection of services provided at the hospital was undertaken in September and October last year, Maternity and Gynaecology services were among the departments inspectors did not observe.
The Trust’s Maternity and Gynaecology services received the second lowest rating of ‘requires improvement’, when the findings of a specific inspection of the department were published by the CQC in April 2016.
Irwin Mitchell’s specialist medical negligence lawyers have vast experience in providing support to patients affected by problems during treatment and care, as well as advising families affected by birth injury and similar issues.
