Erin Sawyer Takes Up New Role
Erin Sawyer, family law associate at Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth, has been appointed the position of junior vice president at the Bristol Law Society.
Erin was elected to the position at the society’s AGM last week, which also saw a number of roles filled by newly appointed members including the presidency. The council implements the policies of the Bristol Law Society throughout the year, promotes the legal society in the south west region and raises funds for the Bristol Children’s Help Society.
The Bristol Law Society has more than 4,500 members and is the oldest law society in the country.
An associate in the Bristol family law team for Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth, Erin specialises in matrimonial financial matters. She has a wealth of experience in handling issues such as financial remediation mandates, cohabitation disputes and pre-marital agreements.
Erin has a unique take on family law due to her Masters of Law (LLM) in International Business Law, and is qualified to handle family affairs concerning family-owned SME companies and partnerships, as well as large shareholdings in private and publicly-listed companies.
Erin also takes on professional negligence claims emanating from advice and representation received by clients within financial proceedings on divorce, and with regard to cohabitation disputes which have arisen as a result of negligent advice on the cohabitees’ purchase of a property. She was recognised in the latest Legal 500 rankings for her work in this area.
