Project Edward – launched by the European Traffic Police Network, TISPOL – aims to unite the drivers of Europe to make a pledge to drive more safely

Expert serious injury lawyers have heralded the start a campaign aimed at bringing about a day without a single road death.

Irwin Mitchell, which represents families who have tragically lost loved ones on the roads and those left with life changing injuries as a result of car accidents, are calling on drivers to take the Project EDWARD pledge to ensure they drive within the speed limit without distractions, and ensure their cars are roadworthy.

Project EDWARD – or European Day Without A Road Death – was launched by the European Traffic Police Network, TISPOL today with the aim of uniting the drivers of Europe to make a pledge to drive more safely, and result in a day with no deaths on Europe’s roads.

The Project Edward Pledge  asks drivers – among other things - to put lights on for safety, be extra vigilant and attentive to the needs of pedestrians, cyclists, children, older people and horse riders, drive at speeds that are both legal and safe, always wear a seatbelt and not to use a mobile phone whilst driving.
