Law Firm Raising Money To Train ‘Mitchell’

A thrill-seeking team from national law firm Irwin Mitchell took on the Total Warrior challenge and raised £4000 to help train a support dog and transform a life.
 
A 32 strong team from Leeds, Sheffield and Gatwick teamed together to take on the mud, sweat and cheers of a 10k course combining hills and rivers across the Lake District terrain.
 
This is a key part of a yearlong ambition to raise £30,000 so ‘Mitchell’ the support dog  named by the law firm, can receive the training and support needed to transform a new owner’s life.
 
Standing in their way were 30 gruelling obstacles which involved jumping over fire, crawling through mud, climbing walls, swimming through ice baths and avoiding high voltage shocks.
 
The reason the team members voluntarily pushed themselves through the mental and physical pain barrier was a simple one; to raise money for Support Dogs.
 
The charity is dedicated to increasing independence and quality of life for people with various medical conditions. It achieves this by training and providing specialist assistance dogs to support children with autism and adults with disabilities  and epilepsy.
 
The four-legged loving organisation is based in the steel city and has been named as the law firm’s Charity of the Year in their Sheffield office.  The money raised from the Total Warrior challenge will go towards their target which they hope to smash by the end of the year.
 
Danny Anderson, fundraising manager at Support Dogs, said: “We receive fantastic support from Irwin Mitchell and it is great that so many of their staff were prepared to take on the Total Warrior for us.”
