Former ‘Dragon’ Calls On Recruitment Firms To Take Their Business To Next Level
James Caan, the high profile entrepreneur and former Dragons’ Den star, will be the keynote speaker at an event on 10 March in Leeds.
Hosted by Irwin Mitchell and organised by the Institute of Recruiters (IOR) and specialist venture capital fund Recruitment Entrepreneur, the free event will focus on helping owners of small recruitment agencies take their business to the next level.
James, who is one of the UK’s eminent entrepreneurs, is an expert at building, running and scaling businesses. His first recruitment company, Alexander Mann, has sold three times, most recently in 2013 for £260 million. Recruitment Entrepreneur is his venture capital fund which invests exclusively in the recruitment and staffing sector.
In addition to James, Recruitment Entrepreneur will provide an insight into the current status of the recruitment market, the challenges to growth and what drives the sale of a recruitment agency and the sale value. Irwin Mitchell Employment Partner, Glenn Hayes, will also provide guidance on how to retain key staff from leaving to go to competitors but if they do leave, how best to protect themselves from such exiting from taking sensitive information or key client relationships with them.
Padma Tadi, an Employment Solicitor at Irwin Mitchell, said:
Expert Opinion
James and his team at Recruitment Entrepreneur spoke at a similar event in our London office last year and it was very successful. We had excellent feedback from recruiters and we wanted to run something similar for recruitment firms in the North. This event looks set to be equally popular as it will no doubt provide some valuable tips, insight and inspiration so that companies working in the sector can take advantage of the market opportunities that exist.” Padma Tadi-Booth - Partner
Last year, James Caan endorsed an innovative new course designed for individuals who are interested in starting or developing a career in HR. The course, which Irwin Mitchell delivers alongside the (IOR), offers a new Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Human Resource Practice. Those that complete the seven month course will gain an internationally recognised HR qualification which is regulated by OfQual.
