Inspirational Entrepreneur To Provide Practical Tips On Business Expansion
The high profile founder of former internet giant Freeserve, Ajaz Ahmed, will be the keynote speaker at a breakfast event on 12 February hosted by Irwin Mitchell and the Institute of Recruiters.
Former PC World store manager and one time store manager at Dixons Manchester, Ajaz Ahmed, launched Freeserve in 1998. It became the UK’s largest ISP and within its first three months it had revolutionised how people accessed the internet and in the process attracted millions of subscribers.
In 1999 it floated with a market cap of £1.5bn and at its peak was valued at £9bn. The company was sold by Dixons to France Telecom for £1.6bn in 2001.
Since then, Ajaz has worked with many new businesses and sits on the advisory board at the University of Huddersfield Business School.
The seminar in Manchester will include a 30 minute talk by Ajaz followed by a Q&A session. During the event, he will provide attendees with practical lessons about how to take a business idea forward and discuss how to think like an entrepreneur.
