Children and Driver Injured In Road Traffic Collision
By Rob Dixon
Four children and a driver were injured after a school bus and a van collided outside the Perthshire village of Murthly this morning (February 15th).
Kinclaven Road was closed as emergency services worked at the scene following the incident, which saw the double-decker bus collide with a Volkswagen Caravelle.
According to Tayside Police, the 34-year-old van driver suffered a head injury and a broken collarbone in the crash and was taken to Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital for treatment. Three children suffered minor injuries while the fourth was taken to Perth Royal infirmary as a precautionary measure.
Elaine Russell, a Partner at Irwin Mitchell’s Glasgow office, specialises in acting for the families of victims of road traffic collisions, helping them to gain justice over the serious injuries they have suffered.
Commenting on the crash, Elaine said: “Very little is so far known about the circumstances of the crash, so it will be vital that police and authorities work to determine exactly what happened with consideration of all of the factors which may have played a part.
“For the sake of all of those involved and affected by this, it is vital that an investigation can be carried out both quickly and thoroughly to ensure that lessons can be learned which may go towards improving safety in the future.”
