If you’re an aspiring Public Law and Human Rights (PLHR) solicitor, our competition will give you the chance to win a £250 Blackwell’s gift card. It’ll also raise your profile, which could help kick-start your career in law.
Our PLHR team is looking to hear from law students, graduates, and paralegals who are considering the solicitor route, and trainee solicitors with an interest in, and who are thinking of specialising in public law.
Andrew Lockley was the first head of our PLHR team, and led this work for over 10 years. In his honour, we’re asking entrants to submit an essay evaluating the impact of the tenth anniversary of the Care Act 2014.
Your essay should consider:
The aim of the Care Act 2014 was to “transform the system of care and support in England for the good of each and every one of us” (‘Caring for our future: reforming care and support’ White Paper, July 2012). To what extent has the Act achieved these aims? Please refer to judicial review court judgments in your answer.
