Biography
I am a solicitor in the Serious Injury team in Newcastle. I work with children and adults who have suffered catastrophic injuries including serious brain and spinal cord injuries and assist them with obtaining financial compensation for their injuries.
As a Serious Injury Solicitor, I work closely with clients and their families and various rehabilitation professionals in order to ensure that clients have access to the rehabilitation they require in order to improve their quality of life and maximise their recovery following suffering serious injuries.
I joined Irwin Mitchell LLP as a paralegal in the serious injury team in 2019 after completing the Graduate Diploma in Law course. I commenced a training contact in 2021 and qualified as a solicitor into the Serious Injury team in May 2023.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I work alongside fantastic colleagues who have the experience and expertise in order to obtain the best possible outcome for our clients. My colleagues and I strive to deliver excellent client service by providing expert legal advice with kindness, patience and empathy. I am always learning from my colleagues and feel proud to work in a team of excellent lawyers who genuinely care about their clients.
What Inspired You to Get into Law?
I became interested in law as I enjoy problem solving and wanted to pursue a career in which I would feel challenged, but I also knew I wanted to work in a field in which I could help people and work directly with my clients. Since beginning my studies in law, I gained experience in various practice areas, but I then undertook a two-week work experience vacation scheme at Irwin Mitchell and this confirmed to me that serious personal injury work was the area in which I wanted to work, and that Irwin Mitchell LLP was the firm I wanted to work for.
What Is the Most Rewarding Aspect of Your Role?
The most rewarding aspect of my role is being part of a process which truly makes a difference to our clients’ lives following sustaining serious injuries. I am continually inspired by the progress our clients make in their journeys towards recovery from injury and take pride in the work I do to in order to secure compensation for our clients so that they can access vital rehabilitation and have their needs met for the rest of their lives following serious injury.
What Do You Do Away from the Office?
When I am not working, I enjoy walking in the countryside, singing and making music, cooking and reading. I also enjoy keeping active and particularly enjoy jogging, swimming and yoga.
