Biography
I am an Associate Solicitor specialising in Medical Negligence claims, based in Leeds.
I joined Irwin Mitchell in 2016 as a Trainee Solicitor and spent two years training in various different departments. I enjoyed working in all areas of personal legal services but I particularly enjoyed Medical Negligence as I have an interest in both medical and legal matters. I therefore decided to specialise in Medical Negligence claims and qualified into this team in 2018.
I work solely for claimants and deal with a variety of claims such as:
- Delay in diagnosis of cancer
- Stillbirth and neonatal deaths
- Orthopaedic claims
- Psychiatric injury claims.
What inspired you to get into law?
I had always been interested in 'right and wrong' from a young age and found legal matters fascinating. I initially studied Linguistics at University as I had a love of English Language but eventually decided that I wanted a career in Law so I undertook a Masters in Law after completing my undergraduate degree.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The most rewarding parts of the job is getting a good result for your clients. All of our clients have been through a traumatic experience and being able to help them in some way whether that be obtaining compensation or getting answers about what has happened to them is certainly the most rewarding part of the job.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
Everybody works extremely hard to support their clients and colleagues which makes it a great place to work.
