Biography
I am a partner in the Tax, Trusts and Estates team in our Leeds office. I primarily advise business owners, entrepreneurs, senior executives and high net worth clients on planning in relation to succession, asset protection and capital tax mitigation.
This work often involves advice on Wills, complex trusts and the structuring of private companies.
I also have particular experience of setting up family investment companies.
What inspired you to get into law?
My interest in law built gradually rather than from any particular inspiration. After enjoying work experience, I did my degree in law, and happily found my way into private client work.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
I enjoy working closely with clients and their families and building up long-term trusted relationships.
It’s rewarding to help clients with their estate planning and to see the benefits that such planning can bring.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
There’s real strength and depth in Irwin Mitchell’s private client expertise nationally, and it is great to be a part of a team that works so collaboratively.
What do you do away from the office?
We have two children and a labrador to keep us busy. We spend lots of time outside walking, cycling and, more recently, paddle-boarding. I enjoy most sports but supporting Leeds United is top of the list.
