Biography
I've been working in costs since 1999 dealing with both paying party and recovery work during this time.
I joined Irwin Mitchell in November 2009, became a Team Leader at Irwin Mitchell LLP in 2012, led the Costs Budgeting Team since June 2014 and subsequently became a Costs Manager and Associate in 2021.
I manage both Costs Budgeting Teams, all CPI work regarding the South Region (Bristol, Southampton and Cambridge) and a Billing only team.
What inspired you to get into law?
I worked for a family Costs practice initially. I was always interested in this area as I grew up with it being part of my life. I really have managed to get involved with all types of cases over the years working on actions such as the British Steel Workers litigation and the British Coal Coke Oven Workers litigation to Medical Negligence, Serious Injury, Workplace Injury, Commercial, Criminal claims. I enjoy the variety working in Costs provides.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Getting the best results for the client. I like to get results but i also love to manage people and bring out the best in individuals.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I have worked at Irwin Mitchell LLP since 2009 and I am really proud of what the firm stands for. What do you do away from the office?
I am a Chesterfield Football Club fan. I enjoy walking in the countryside, cooking, travelling and music.
