Biography
I am a full member of the Association of Contentious Trust & Probate Specialists, advising on disputes relating to wills, trusts and estates including Inheritance Act claims where a party claims not to have received reasonable financial provision, executor misconduct where there are allegations of delay or misuse of estate funds, and will challenges based on lack of capacity, undue influence and other grounds. I also deal with contested Court of Protection matters such as revocation of Lasting Powers of Attorney and disputed Deputyship applications.
Trust litigation including the interpretation or variation of trusts is also a key practice area and I acted for the successful Third Defendant in Equiom v Velarde and on appeal in Velarde v Velarde, a high-profile dispute involving the Littlewoods Pools family.

What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
The firm continues to go from strength to strength. In particular the Will, Trust & Estate Dispute team is both talented and highly regarded amongst clients and other professionals.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Will, trust and estate disputes can be both complex and challenging due to the emotive background which often involves a bereavement. It is very rewarding to obtain an outcome for the client that protects them or their family at a difficult time.
What inspired you to get into law?
I was inspired to get into law by my grandparents, one of whom was a police officer involved in several notorious cases.
What do you do away from the office?
Away from the office, I enjoy watching football with my husband and two children (one of whom is often on the pitch), going on camping holidays and visiting new places to improve my photography.
