Biography
I am a senior associate in the Serious Injury team at Irwin Mitchell, working in the London office. I have over 12 years' experience working with clients who have suffered life changing injuries, through no fault of their own, whether that be in a road traffic accident, accident at work or in a public place.
I have a particular interest in those accidents resulting in brain injury and my focus throughout any case is to ensure the injured person has access to the best rehabilitation at the earliest stage to be of most benefit.
I am accredited as a Senior Litigator and a brain injury specialist with APIL. I am also a trustee and vice chair for the brain injury charity, Headway East London. I sit on the executive committee for ABIL (Acquired Brain Injury Forum for London), campaigning to raise awareness of brain injury in London.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
Accidents are often extremely traumatic events. Injured people and their families often don't know who to turn to as they have never been in such a situation before. I became a personal injury lawyer as I wanted to help people navigate such a difficult point in their lives and ensure that they had the best representation to guide them through the process. I feel that it is important that victims of serious accidents have someone they trust fighting their corner.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
For me, the most rewarding part of my role is seeing the difference that rehabilitation can make to the injured person throughout the claim.
The aim of a personal injury claim is that by the time the claim has come to an end, the injured person has recovered as far as is possible and has everything they need in order to move forwards with their lives. It is therefore important that we achieve the best settlement for the injured person as is possible, to ensure that their ongoing needs are protected.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
I am fortunate to work with colleagues who really are experts in their fields. My colleagues and I will often share our knowledge across the various departments, to ensure that our clients can benefit from the wealth of knowledge and experience throughout our business.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
I am a keen skier, although I fear that my enthusiasm outweighs my skill!
I am originally from Liverpool and despite living in London for longer than I lived in Liverpool, I still enjoy visiting all of the fantastic tourist attractions London has to offer with my two young boys.
