Biography
I am the partner who leads the Serious Injury Department in our London office. Our main focus is on high value national and international serious injury litigation. I specialise in complex and high value cases for clients who have suffered very serious or life-changing injuries. My clients include people who have suffered spinal cord, brain and amputation injuries. I also act for the families of people who suffered fatal injuries.
Many of the cases I have dealt with have been widely covered in the media, such as acting for victims of the tram crash in Croydon in 2016, and for a number of children affected by the E.coli outbreak at Godstone Farm in Surrey.
I have been a solicitor since 1995 and I have dealt with personal injury cases throughout my legal career. My cases include road traffic accidents, accidents at work and accidents in other public places or private premises.
I also have particular experience of handling cases involving police officers and in the training, equipment and health and safety risks specific to their work.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Whilst many of my cases recover large amounts of compensation, my main focus is to rebuild people's lives after an accident. A key part of my role is making sure my clients have access to quality rehabilitation, and enabling them t o get the best possible outcome after an injury. I am always delighted when I meet up with previous clients and find that they are thriving.
What do you do away from the office?
I have a keen interest in food and cooking. When I can, I like to spend time looking after my garden and taking my dog for long walks on Wimbledon Common. I also enjoy running and cycling.
Publications
I am on the editorial board of the Journal of Personal Injury Law, and write regular case reviews for this publication. I'm often involved in media appearances including appearances on Channel 4 News, Sky News, BBC Radio and various national and local papers.
I have also lectured widely on personal injury cases at many conferences and provided professional training for organisations including APIL and MBL.
