Biography
I’m a senior associate in the family team based in our Birmingham office. I specialise in helping clients resolve family law issues. I advise in cases involving complex finances and in matters relating to children where there are serious welfare concerns. I also have expertise advising in wealth protection and nuptial agreements.
I understand how difficult family breakdown is and the impact it can have on individuals and the wider family. I’m dedicated to helping clients achieve their objectives and I firmly believe in adopting a strategic and pragmatic approach to resolve matters as quickly as possible.
I’m committed to helping clients resolve disputes out of court if possible. This is not only the most cost effective approach but it also enables people to stay in control of decisions and work towards the best possible solution for their family.
It also helps preserve the relationship between parents which is crucial for the family moving forward. I’m an accredited family mediator and I’m specially trained in hybrid mediation, which allows me to offer a choice of approach tailored to my clients’ needs.
What inspired you to get into law?
I love working with people and I enjoy the problem solving aspect of law. Family law allows me to combine both of these to help my clients achieve the best possible outcome.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
My clients. Over the years I’ve met some truly inspirational people who’ve overcome huge challenges and successfully rebuilt their lives.
Family breakdown is incredibly distressing and difficult, so being able to help people navigate that and move forward is very rewarding.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
The depth of knowledge and resources across the national family team is unrivalled. This is combined with an emphasis on the personal touch and providing individualised advice to make sure clients’ objectives are met. It’s a privilege to be part of such an innovative and forward thinking firm.
What do you do away from the office?
I have three young children so I understand the challenges of family life. In the rare moments I get to myself, I love spending time outdoors, good food and wine and live music.
