Biography
I am a Paralegal within the Medical Negligence team based in Manchester and a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). Currently, I am in the final year of my studies to qualify as a CILEX Lawyer.
My specialisation lies in medical negligence, where I play a crucial role in evaluating and managing new cases that are brought to our team. I represent individuals who may have received substandard care in various medical settings, including hospitals, dental clinics, and other healthcare settings. My goal is to achieve the best possible outcome for those who have suffered due to medical negligence.
I have a particular interest in cases involving birth injuries, fatalities, cancer, surgical negligence, and obstetric emergencies.
What inspired you to get into law?
From a young age, I was drawn to roles that involved investigation and analysis. The process of delving into details, uncovering facts, and piecing together information to find answers was particularly appealing me. The concept of uniformity and the rule of law particularly appealed to me, as they represent the foundation of a fair and just society.
During my academic years, I provided emotional and practical support to individuals facing court proceedings alone. This experience enabled me to empower and protect a diverse range of individuals, including children, victims of abuse, and those unable to afford legal representation.
I subsequently developed a keen interest in practicing law. I enjoy the intellectual challenge of staying current with legal developments, engaging in problem solving, and employing creative thinking. Additionally, I find great satisfaction in providing personalised service to clients who have been injured due to negligence.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
I find immense satisfaction in empowering a diverse range of individuals, including the vulnerable, children, and those who may feel voiceless. Providing support and advocacy for these groups is deeply fulfilling, as it allows me to make a meaningful difference in their lives.
I enjoy the investigative aspect of my work to find answers to my clients' questions. I find great satisfaction in reaching settlements for cases where injuries could have been prevented. It is rewarding to secure justice and compensation for clients who have suffered due to negligence.

What do you do away from the office?
In my spare time, I often dedicate myself to volunteering for various organisations mainly in the community and the legal sector. I currently volunteer as a Project Leader for a charity called FoodCycle. FoodCycle create welcoming spaces for people from all walks of life to meet, eat and have conversations, supporting people’s health and mental wellbeing.
I’m a keen runner and love to run locally and in various races in the country. On my weekends I enjoy socialising with my friends and travelling.

"I contacted Irwin Mitchell on behalf of my dad to pursue a medical negligence claim. Ruth Thomas and Nathan Taylor handled my case and I couldn't be happier with the service they provided from beginning to end. It was a very complicated case, yet they managed to achieve a settlement and a level of compensation that far exceeded my expectations. They were very dedicated to achieving the best possible result for me throughout what was a very long and drawn out case, and for that I'm very thankful." - 5* Trustpilot review
