Biography
I am a Senior Associate Solicitor in the Medical Negligence team in our London office. I qualified in September 2014.
I specialise in representing people who've been injured as a result of medical negligence by hospitals, healthcare providers or by their GP. I also have experience in helping families who have lost a loved one and need representation at an inquest.
I manage my own varied case load covering a full range of medical issues including:
- Birth injury claims
- Retinopathy of prematurity claims
- Orthopaedic claims
- Claims involving a delay in diagnosis of cancer
- Fatal claims
- Surgical claims.
I also assist other members of the team in various high value and complex cases involving spinal injuries, paralysis, and birth injuries.
On a daily basis, I work hard to achieve the best results for clients. I explain the litigation process in detail and endeavour to get the most compensation I can get for the client. I also help clients access rehabilitation to assist in their quality of life.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
Law is a complex, challenging but rewarding career path. To be intellectually stimulated whilst helping people and making a difference is why I wanted to pursue a career in law.
Guiding people and helping people through, what can be, the most difficult stage in their life, is something that I have always wanted to do. Medical Negligence in particular is extremely varied and it is this diverse range that makes working in law exciting and stimulating.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
To meet such inspiring individuals who have been through such hardship but want to make the most of their situation is why I feel privileged to work in this role. It's extremely rewarding to be able to work alongside them and give them the compensation and rehabilitation they need to live their lives.

Testimonials
"Following my life-changing irreversible Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), I approached to Irwin Mitchell and Shivi Nathan was appointed as my main solicitor and she was teaming up with another solicitor Natalie Fox. She kept me informed and transparent at every steps of the process. My case was against the top opposition and it dragged me some good years to settle. They both kept me at ease during those frustratingly long years.
"I always had a strong trust with my solicitors because of their utmost professionalism, dedication and passionate approach to me and my family. They're truly a female powerhouse within Irwin Mitchell. Without their greatly skilled professionalism my case wouldn't have been settled at very satisfactory outcome. I can't appreciate them enough and I strongly recommend them to anyone." - 5* Trustpilot review
"Thank you for such an incredible service. I would highly recommend Natalie Fox she was super helpful - if I ever needed help or had any questions she would always be at the end of the phone. I have a two-and-a-half-year-old and Natalie has been able to help me give my daughter Mia the help and support she will need when she’s older." - 5* Trustpilot review
"I am particularly grateful to Natalie for supporting and guiding me through the emotional experience of my personal statement. Her warmth and sensitivity when dealing with such a traumatic and deeply personal experience was exceptional. The expertise and professionalism of Shivi and Natalie meant that I was kept informed with every stage of the case, and they were always available and more than happy to discuss or explain any areas of concern or uncertainty in clear detail. I always felt very comfortable and at ease to address anything with Shivi or Natalie due to their personable and compassionate manner." - 5* Trustpilot review
