Marianne Walker was our assigned Solicitor with Beth Whittaker acting as her paralegal assistant. Both were fantastic at their job. What I liked and was felt throughout the ordeal was their empathetic attitude for my daughter’s situation and traumatic experience. They both were very approachable and easy to relate to. I would definitely recommend both of them if you’re in the unfortunate position of a personal negligence claim and seeking a law firm to support you." - 5* Trustpilot review

“I am so overwhelmed by the fantastic work that Irwin Mitchell did with my case. I made a claim for medical negligence after the death of my husband through suicide in the hospital, and we won. They helped me through it and were amazing, particularly Georgie Cushing and Marianne Walker. I highly recommend these fabulous ladies. They have been amazing throughout and I would highly recommend Irwin Mitchell. Thank you so much!” - Kelly, former client
"We made a clinical negligence claim over the unfortunate demise of our father. In the last few months of our claim we had Marianne as our main point of contact. She was kind and professional and phoned us on many occasions to make sure we were okay and kept us updated. We were visited in our home too. This time was extremely difficult for us but because of Irwin Mitchell we were able to make it through. A special thanks goes to Georgie and Marianne for genuinely caring and helping us through this." - Khaled, former client

What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
I was first inspired to go into law by an A level tutor and former Barrister, who taught the subject and could conjure witty and quite crushing comments for any student not paying attention in class!
I took a more circuitous route in my studies, first obtaining an English Literature and Language degree at Leicester University and then obtaining a Law degree from the University of Law before qualifying as a Solicitor.
I have always loved the considered use of language to construct persuasive arguments and hone a case. It's an absolute privilege to use my skills and experience to help injured people secure proper compensation.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
The thing that really drives me in my work is helping my clients, most of whom have been badly injured, get through the process of bringing a claim. Making what can be a very stressful time in their lives easier, and coming out the other side of a successful case together is a real joy.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
The team! There is a huge wealth of experience in the team members throughout Irwin Mitchell's many departments and in the medical negligence department in particular.
Everyone contributes what they know to the common good, and there is no situation which someone in the department has not faced before.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
I love to travel and have managed to fit in a number of far-flung explorations whilst studying, qualifying and working as a Solicitor including Cambodia, Vietnam, Australia, Bali and Japan. When at home I like to run (I've signed up for my first half marathon... eek), read a lot of books and see stand-up comedy.
