I am an Associate Solicitor in the Medical Negligence team in our Newcastle office.
I qualified as a Solicitor in 2010 and have 8 years experience in civil litigation and in personal injury claims. I specialise in clinical negligence claims and have a particular interest in surgical negligence, delayed cancer diagnosis, gynaecology, and fatal claims.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
I decided to take up a career in law after working the summer holidays in a local high street firm. I immediately knew this was the right path for me and studied law at university on a part-time basis whilst working full-time in a solicitors firm, gaining invaluable knowledge.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
I find it rewarding to make a difference and help people achieve the outcome they want. Every client is unique and has different goals when they make a claim.
Some people just need to talk to someone who understands what they've gone through. Some want an apology. Some want to ensure that lessons are learnt and that others never have to go through the same ordeal.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
Everyone is genuinely very friendly and approachable at Irwin Mitchell. I feel like part of a close-knit team.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
My hobbies include cooking, keeping fit, and weekends away. My two young sons also keep me very busy.
